The next three months are expected to be warmer than usual with both day and night temperatures likely to exceed their averages.
According to the T&T Met Service, September is especially likely to be the hotter of the two months.
It says there is a concern for short duration hot-spells and an increase in the number of hot days where the maximum temperature is greater than 33.9 degrees Celsius in Trinidad, and greater than 32 degrees Celsius in Tobago.
September and October are part of the local heat season.
Despite this though, the outlook for September to November is likely to be as wet as usual with near average rainfall totals expected.
The risk of flooding also remains elevated.
