The Met Office has issued its hazardous seas alert #2 saying that sea conditions continue to be agitated by strong low level winds.

In its update today, it says the conditions are expected to continue until Wednesday 13th January 2021.

This, it says, will coincide with spring tide which can exacerbate conditions at high tide.

The office notes that waves have been observed at heights of between 2.5m and 3m in open waters and near 1m in sheltered areas.

It continues to warn persons to monitor conditions, exercise caution in coastal and offshore waters, avoid entering the sea if it’s unnecessary and be alert for large waves and dangerous currents.

Sea conditions are being affected in coastal and offshore waters around North and East Trinidad, as well as Tobago.
