Legislation on the mandatory wearing on face masks is being drafted.

This update comes from Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh this morning during the Ministry’s COVID-19 briefing.

He says, however, Parliament will have to sit to amend the Public Ordinance Act.

Today’s statement comes almost a week after the Prime Minister announced that mandatory mask wearing was being considered as a tool to curb the spread of the virus in T&T.

According to Al Jazeera News, over 50 countries currently have laws in place to requiring the wearing of a mask once persons leave home.
