Manahambre man arrested over theft of $3.7K cash during currency exchange


    Police have arrested a Manahambre man over the alleged theft of TT$3,750 dollars during an exchange of local and foreign currency.

    The victim claims on Monday 25th January, he was heading Princes Town in a car, driven by someone he has known for two years, when he reportedly handed over the TT cash in exchange for US$500.

    On reaching Craignish Village, the victim left the car to purchase an item and the suspect allegedly drove off with local currency.

    He reported the incident to police who intercepted a white Nissan Note along Manahambre Road and arrested the 29-year-old driver.

    Enquiries are ongoing.
