A 51-year-old Penal man has been arrested in connection with a break-in which saw cigarettes, energy drinks, snacks, alcohol, and cash stolen from a shop.
The shopkeeper of Bunsee Trace, Penal Rock Road, secured his business on Tuesday evening.
However, around 3am on Wednesday, he awoke and found that it was open.
Upon making checks he discovered the items missing.
Based on information, investigating officers went to Goodman Trace, Penal Rock Road, where they found the suspect in possession of the cigarettes.
He was charged for shop breaking and larceny and was expected to virtually appear before a Siparia Magistrate today.
