A Charlieville man has been charged with several traffic offences, including Driving Under the Influence.
The accused was arrested on Saturday night, after his car hit an unmarked police vehicle along the south-bound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway.
The man allegedly attempted to drive away, but was intercepted a short time after by officers of the Cunupia Police Station.
He was taken to the Chaguanas Police Station where a breathalyser test showed levels of 146 micrograms, which is four times the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
The man has been charged with DUI, Driving without a Driver’s Permit, Failing to Produce a Driver’s Permit, Driving without a Certificate of Insurance and Failing to Produce a Certificate of Insurance.
He is expected to appear in court on November 13th.
