A 32-year-old labourer will appear before a Princes Town Magistrate today charged with the chopping death of his brother-in-law and younger sister.
The accused also faces charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against his father, and the attempted murder of his older sister.
52-year-old Antero Mc Queen was killed on November 7th after being chopped on the neck at his home on Farmers Road, New Grant.
Mc Queen’s 42-year-old wife and 72-year-old father-in-law were also chopped.
The accused then allegedly went to the nearby home of 35-year-old Monica Jagroop and chopped her several times before fleeing.
Mc Queen and Jagroop both died at the scene, while the other two victims were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
The accused was arrested several days later on November 17th.
The TTPS’ Victim and Witness Support Unit is currently offering support and counselling to the relatives of the victims impacted by this event.
The VWSU is also collaborating with other agencies so the family can be provided with the range of services needed.
