The death of former UNC Vice Chairman, Clifton De Coteau means the party has lost a patriot and stalwart according to the Opposition Leader.
Responding to his passing, Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar also called the former minister a friend, a brother and a father figure.
She says Mr De Coteau served at all levels of the party, including as Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development and as MP for Moruga/Tableland.
She believes his “impeccable work ethic”, showed his dedication and passion for service.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar notes, “Uncle Coto” as he was fondly called, extended his service beyond politics as a teacher, school supervisor and principal.
