Former U.S. Ambassador to T&T, Joseph Mondello, has passed away.
He reportedly died on Monday at the age of 84.
Mr Mondello served in T&T between October 2018 and January 2021 and according to the U.S. Embassy, he considered it one of the greatest honors of his career.
In a tribute, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Cindy Diouf noted that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Mondello refused to leave his team, even as infections rose and borders closed.
She says he loved and respected the people of Trinidad and Tobago and was proud to serve his country.
