Increase in Trinidad cruise ship visitors

The Tourism Ministry says cruise ship visitors to Trinidad increased by more than 10,000 during the 2018/19 cruise season.

The Ministry says more than 58,000 cruise passengers visited this season, compared to 47,000 in 2017/18.

The cruise season runs from November to April each year.

Tourism Minister Honourable Randall Mitchell welcomed the increase, and promised other initiatives to help boost the sector in Trinidad.

Among them are upgrades to the Maracas Beach Facility, which he says will be up to International Beach Standard in the coming months.
