Issues surrounding an upgrade at the port that led to delays in clearing shipments have been mostly resolved, according to the Finance Minister.
Speaking in Parliament, Mr Colm Imbert explains that the port has been moving to an improved version of the ASYCUDA electronic clearance application.
However, he says the problems stemmed from a failure by some shipping companies to update their XML files which encode data.
The issues at the port had led the American Chamber of Industry and Commerce, AMCHAM, to issue a plea to government.
It claimed that simple shipments were taking a significant amount of time to be cleared.
