NACTA: Gary & Jack energrize UNC supporters

The latest NACTA poll has reportedly found that the UNC’s alliance with the NTA and the return of Jack Warner has energised its traditional supporters.

Newsday reported that NACTA, in a report today, said a similar enthusiasm has not been displayed by the traditional supporters of the PNM.

And, it adds that continuing dissatisfaction with the PNM and the UNC could result in voters gravitating towards the minor parties which are pulling impressive support.

Meanwhile, NACTA found that there may be a close fight to control the San Fernando and Sangre Grande Corporations, following the August 14th local polls.

The Newsday article said the poll showed close contests in several of the 141 districts.

And, in the San Fernando Municipality, currently held by the PNM, NACTA said that party has a strong lead in four districts but a smaller lead in one seat.

It says here, the UNC has strong leads in two seats and a smaller lead in one seat. One seat is a toss-up.

In Sangre Grande, now controlled by the UNC, NACTA said, “The UNC has a strong lead in three seats and a smaller lead in one seat. The PNM has strong lead in two seats with two seats being toss ups that could go either way.”

NACTA added that altogether, three seats are within the poll’s margin of error of five per cent suggesting they could go either way.
