Planning is well underway for a COVID-19 vaccination plan.
This comes from Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, following reports of successful vaccine trials in recent days.
Minister Deyalsingh reminded that at this time there is no WHO approved vaccine.
He adds though that they are keeping an eye on the development of the Moderna vaccine in particular.
As for the distribution plan, a team was put together to work out the details.
Regarding storage, there are several options, with the Couva Hospital to serve as the main hub.
Walk-in chillers will be built at Couva and in Tobago, and in each of these, there will be a number of specialist freezers.
Up to 10 of these freezers will be ordered, possibly by the end of this week, according to Mr Deyalsingh.
