Health Minister: all patients are treated, with or without COVID-19 test

The Health Minister has dismissed claims that persons are dying while waiting for COVID-19 tests.

Speaking during this morning’s Health Briefing, Minister Terrence Deyalsingh insisted that once a patient is showing symptoms, they are provided treatment, whether or not they have been tested.

This was backed up by Principal Medical Officer of Health for Epidemiology Dr Naresh Nandram, who also reminded that there is not treatment for the COVID-19 virus itself.

Mr Deyalsingh meanwhile issued yet another call for persons to wear a mask in public, to physically distance, and to only venture out when necessary.
