Vaccine-preventable diseases could be reintroduced to T&T if children’s immunization schedules are not kept updated.
This is the warning of Manager of Expanded Programme on Immunization, Grace Sookchand, days after the Health Minister urged parents to ensure their children are vaccinated.
She says a lack of vaccination in T&T could be detrimental, particularly as the country continues to grapple with COVID-19.
Ms Sookchand says public demand for vaccines has fallen since March as persons worry about the spread of COVID-19.
She notes that if parents cannot keep an appointment, for whatever reason, they should call the health facility to reschedule.
