Habitat for Humanity is calling for structural engineers to help do damage assessments at flood-affected homes in Santa Cruz, San Juan, El Socorro and Aranguez.

It is also calling for regular volunteers to assist with clean-up operations and packing of cleaning kits for distribution along the East-West Corridor.

For Habitat homeowners whose houses have been affected by flooding, they are asked to contact their community officers at 398-7381 and 675-1222.

The group has also asked its major donors to assist, either in cash or kind, with items for cleaning and hygiene kits.

These items include shovels, spades, buckets, yard brooms, rubber boots and gloves, mops, bleach, sanitizers, garbage bags and dettol.

There are 3 ways of donating:

    1. There are drop-off and collection points at TECU Credit Union Offices in Marabella, Couva and Point Fortin, as well as SITAL College on the Eastern Main Road, Tacarigua.

    2. An online donation facility is open for financial contributions at www.habitat-tt.org/donate-now.

    3. Direct deposits to Republic Bank Account #180482534101.
