Gov’t wants private investors for Aripo Livestock Station

Private investors are being sought to partner with the Government to modernize and revamp the Aripo Livestock Station, where production has fallen to low levels in the past decade.

Agriculture Minister Clarence Rambharat says this approach can help bring innovative approaches to fast track that industry, and the use of private funds means accountability, since investors want a return.

The new operation is also expected to become a significant producer of milk and beef in line with environmental best practices.

The Aripo Livestock Station sits on approximately 1,176 acres of land including forest reserve, pastures, roadways, pens and paddocks.
