Persons filing a report about incidents of domestic violence are urged to get their receipts when making a report to police.
This advice comes from Superintendent Claire Guy-Alleyne, Head of the TTPS Gender-Based Violence Unit.
Speaking on 103.1FM’s program Sargam this morning, she says this step is very important.
She also sought to assure victims that they will not be alone in the process, as support and counselling will be offered.
The Gender-Based Violence Unit was established by Police Commissioner Gary Griffith in January this year.
