Garcia to protesting maxi drivers: We consider it a crime to deprive students of education


    It is a crime to deprive students of their right to education in the eyes of Minister Anthony Garcia who has spoken out on a protest by maxi-taxi drivers hired by Government to transport school children.

    Mr Anthony Garcia says 36 schools were affected by today’s by drivers who are upset over late payment of salaries.

    Mr Garcia says alternative arrangements are now being considered.

    Mr Garcia reminds that, to date, about $38 million in outstanding payments has been paid to the drivers.
