Floods hit Penal, corporation warns of possible impact to Woodland

As floods affect several areas along Penal Rock Road, the area’s regional corporation chairman warns that Woodland may be affected later today.

Dr Allen Sammy, speaking to 103.1FM News this morning, says the Curamata River is at its peak.

He says this has led to flooding from around the 6 mile mark, including Congo Trace and Moolchan Road.

The chairman says although low tide is expected at 10AM, the Woodland community could still be affected.

There have also been reports of floods in Old Rochard Road and in Moruga.
