Five appear in court following drug bust off Tobago’s coast


    After allegedly being caught throwing close to $6 million worth of marijuana off a boat, five men have appeared in court.

    Seon Charles, Desmond “Son” Pavy, Jovel Espinoza, Theodore Bailey and Husayn Sudan Al-Fayed have been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

    Espinoza and Pavy have been remanded into custody while Bailey, Charles and Al-Fayed have been granted $500,000 bail and must report to the police station every Wednesday.

    All five were arrested as the coast guard reportedly made a bust off the south-western coast of Tobago where they recovered several bags of marijuana.

    They will reappear in court on January 5th 2021.
