T&T’s first female President of the Senate, Dr Linda Baboolal, has reportedly died, at the age of 78.
The Trinidad Express reports that she passed away shortly before 5 o’clock this morning but here was no information as to the cause of her death.
Dr Baboolal was a medical doctor who specialized in general family practice and worked extensively in both the public sector and in private practice in Trinidad and Tobago.
She served as Senate President between 2002 and 2007 and also held several ministerial positions including Social Development and Health, from 1992 to 1995.
Dr Baboolal was the first female Chairperson of the People’s National Movement.
