Evangelical churches insist: We are essential entities


    The T&T Council of Evangelical Churches is insisting that churches are essential entities as it empowers other entities.

    Churches are currently not allowed to host physical services but can stream their events online.

    The council is dismissing any notion that the entities are non-essential, saying that the depressed, suicidal, abused and addicted continue to show up to churches with closed doors.

    It also notes that many frontline workers and are motivated in their job due their faith in God.

    The council notes that churches have showed maturity in keeping with regulations but says the pandemic is also affecting finances.

    It is calling for more collaboration with the state to help those in authority understand the reason for their existence.
