“The Lion King” is closing in on the one billion dollar mark, after two two weeks in cinemas.
Disney’s live action remake topped the box-office for a second consecutive week, with a total of $967,441,054 in global earnings, according to Box Office Mojo.
Debuting at #2 was Quentin Tarantino’s latest film “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood”.
That film earned $40m domestically, giving the maverick filmmaker his biggest opening weekend at the US box office.
The much anticipated film, set in 1969 around the time of the Manson murders, stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.
“Spiderman: Far From Home” continued its good run at #3, and has now taken a total of $1.04b at the global box-office.
“Toy Story 4” and “Crawl” rounded out the Top 5.
