“The Crown”creator Peter Morgan has defended the inclusion of fictional scenes in the hit Netflix show.
The show is based on real-life events about the British Royal Family, but is not entirely factual.
Season 4 premiered on Netflix on Sunday with a range of new characters, including Princess Diana and then-prime minister Margaret Thatcher.
There are concerns that viewers watching the show will assume what is portrayed to be true.
According to CNN, the British royal family last year denied any involvement with the Netflix series, after Morgan claimed to meet regularly with “people who are very high-ranking and very active within the organisation.”
The Queen’s communications secretary issued a statement saying” “The Royal Household has never agreed to vet or approve content, has not asked to know what topics will be included, and would never express a view as to the programme’s accuracy.”
