Indian actress roped in for ‘Tom and Jerry’ film


An Indian actor has boarded the cast of a live-action animated film adaptation of cartoon series ‘Tom and Jerry’.

Pallavi Sharda who was born in Australia has featured in several Bollywood films such as ‘Besharam’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor, and ‘Hawaizaada’.

She joins the film’s cast alongside Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians), Rob Delaney (Catastrophe) and Jordan Bolger (The 100).

Pallavi Sharda will reportedly play Preeta in the ‘Tom and Jerry’ animated film

The project will see the animated versions of Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse and remain as animated silent characters.

Character details are yet to be revealed but, most of the cast has been assigned characters: Ken Jeong will play Jackie, Delaney will play a Dubros, Bolger will play Cameron and Pallavi Sharda will play Preeta.

The cast already has Chloe Grace Moretz who will play a hotel employee (Kayla) who is tasked with taking care of the nuisance of a mouse on the premises.

Kayla will get creative and outsource the job to Tom who is a broke alley cat.

The reboot of the eternal tussle between Tom and Jerry is expected to be directed by Tim Story.
