Hollywood actor James Caan dies at 82

Actor James Caan, perhaps best known for his roles of Sonny Corleone in The Godfather, has died at the age of 82.

The actor was nominated for the Golden Globe’s Award for New Star of the Year for his role as Private Anthony Dugan in “The Glory Guys” in 1965.

Caan then went on to earn several more award nominations in the 70s including for his portrayal of Sonny Corleone.

He also had a role as Walter Hobbs in 2003’s “Elf” alongside Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel.

Caan’s family, which includes five children, thanks fans for their “outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences.”
