Fast and Furious screenwriter Chris Morgan says the film series might see the gang travel to space one day.
Morgan who has written 7 out of the 9 outings with the franchise says ‘nothing is out of the question’ when asked whether fans could see the actors operating rocket ships instead of cars in the future.
“It just has to be cool and it has to be good. You know, that’s the thing. I would say nothing is off-limits as long as we can stay on the right side of keeping the audience engaged.”
“I would never shoot down space,” Never, never. I would literally never shoot down anything, as long as it hits the parameters: ‘Is it badass? is it awesome? Will the audience love it? And will it not break faith with the audience as they’re watching it?’ I’m down for whatever.”
However, Morgan did go on to admit that even the series’ most outrageous stunts, from a tank running down cars on a highway to a submarine chase, have to be grounded in logic somehow.
According to him, the team would have to think long and hard about why, and how, the Fast family would end up among the ‘stars’.
Morgan has also written the upcoming Fast & Furious spin-off ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ which will be release on August 1st in the UK and August 2nd in the US.
