Farhan Akhtar says thanks as Dil Chahta Hai turns 21

In 2001, Indian entertainer Farhan Akhtar made his directorial debut with “Dil Chahta Hai” – a film he says “started it all.”

In a social media post today, Akhtar issued thanks to the cast and crew who believed in the film and the audience which continues to give the movie love.

The film won several awards including the National Film Awards’ Best Feature Film in Hindi.

Since “Dil Chahta Hai”, he has gone on to direct, write or produce many other movies including “Don”, “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” and “Raees”, while also acting.

He’s also been a playback singer for several movies.

Recently, Akhtar made his Hollywood debut as Waleed in Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel”.
