Ellen DeGeneres will end her long-running US talk show in 2022 after 19 years on the air.
According to the BBC, the announcement comes just months after the show faced accusations that it was a toxic place to work and led to three senior producers losing their jobs.
DeGeneres also opened the current season with an on-air apology.
She allegedly told the Hollywood Reporter “As great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge any more.”
She also reportedly stated that the recent allegations had not been a factor in her decision to pull the plug.
The Hollywood Reporter says DeGeneres told staff of her decision on Tuesday and is due to give an interview to chat show host Oprah Winfrey on Thursday.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show has aired since September 2003 and has won 61 Daytime Emmy awards.
