Deepika Padukone has officially shown off the first two products in her new self-care brand, called 82°E (82 East).
The brand was co-founded by Deepika and will offer products such as cleanser, toner, moisturizer, eye cream, and sunscreen.
During a social media LIVE session yesterday, she showed off the brand’s new moisturizer and sunscreen, which took about two years to develop since they wanted to make simple but effective skincare.
They also chose to launch the moisturiser and sunscreen first, since the fundamentals of good skincare are hydration and protection.
The products and their launch however have come in for some criticism.
Some persons feel the overall brand launch lacked hype and failed to capitalize on Deepika’s massive popularity.
Others feel the products are a bit on the pricy side, with the sunscreen retailing for Rs 1,700 (about 150 TTD), while the moisturizer is tagged at Rs 2,700 (about 225 TTD).
