Betty White dies at age 99

Betty White has died at the age of 99.

According to a report by TMZ, the TV icon didn’t have any sudden illness, nor was she battling any particular ailment.

She is instead believed to have died from natural causes.

White was gearing up to celebrate her 100th birthday on January 17th.

A report by People meanwhile quoted a statement from her agent and close friend Jeff Witjas as saying “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”

She is perhaps most famous for her lead role as Rose Nylund in “The Golden Girls” which ran from 1985 to 1992.

But she has over 100 acting credits to her name, with roles in TV productions like “That ’70s Show”, “Boston Legal”, “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Hot in Cleveland” as well as movies like “The Proposal” and “Toy Story 4”.
