Alec Baldwin issues statement on deadly filming incident


Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer and wounded a director when he discharged a prop gun during filming on Thursday.

According to Reuters, Halyna Hutchins, the photography director for “Rust”, and Joel Souza, the film’s director, were wounded at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Ms Hutchins was transported by helicopter to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Mr Souza was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical center to undergo treatment for his injuries.

In a statement, the Santa Fe Sheriff’s office said “The investigation remains open and active.”
