Emergency works start on issue causing water woes in Port of Spain and environs


    Emergency repairs have started on mechanical problems which are causing a water disruption to Port of Spain and environs.

    This is according to WASA which says it expects work at the El Socorro Booster Station to be completed by 10pm today.

    Areas affected include: East Dry River, Morvant, Barataria, Old St Joseph Road, Picton, Belmont, St Barbs, Cascade, St Ann’s, St James, Woodbrook, Port of Spain and parts of Westmoorings.

    WASA notes that even after the resumption of operations at the booster station, it may take up to 24 hours for scheduled pipe borne water to normalize to some areas.
