EMA starts investigation into leaking diesel at Coral Cove Marina

Investigations have been launched into a report of diesel being discharged into water at Coral Cove Marina, Chaguaramas.

The EMA says it is working alongside the Institute of Marine Affairs, the Coast Guard and the Energy Ministry.

Their statement follows a claim by Fishermen and Friends of the Sea Corporate Secretary, Gary Aboud, that the fuel is coming from three foreign vessels docked at the Marina.

He yesterday warned that every drop of hydrocarbon in the water will leave an everlasting effect on the marine environment.
