EMA continues to monitor Woodland oil spill

The Environmental Management Authority says it is continuing to monitor the recent oil spill in Woodland

In particular it is keeping an eye on the response plan undertaken by Heritage Petroleum in the aftermath of the incident.

The EMA says the Incident Management Team established by Heritage Petroleum provides daily updates on the progress of their containment and cleanup activities.

It adds that until Heritage Petroleum completes its incident management, the EMA will continue to monitor the contingency plan and coordinate with all relevant agencies and stakeholders.

The spill was caused by a leaking 16-inch Trunk Pipeline.
