From the 2022/23 academic year, male students who repeatedly commit major infractions and are in line for permanent removal from school will be recommended to the MiLAT Programme.
This is according to the Education Ministry which says MiLAT has been proven to effect positive behaviour modification.
It says such students under the age of 16 will be mandated to attend but similar repeat offender above that age will be encourage but not mandated to attend.
The Ministry says it recognizes that a solution is needed for young female students with similar behavioural challenges.
Therefore, it pledges its support for a suitable expansion of the MiLAT Programme.
