There could be higher fuel prices next year due to the removal of fixed retail margins for all liquid petroleum products, according to an economist.
The Finance Minister announced today that petroleum retailers and dealers will be allowed to fix their own margins from January 2021.
Speaking to 103.1FM News, Dr Vaalmiki Arjoon says this could lead to an increase in costs based on margins fixed by the Petroleum Dealers Association.
Meanwhile, on the move sell all NP gas stations to private dealers, Dr Arjoon says a couple of issues must be addressed.
