In light of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, employers are being urged to continue their measures to slow the spread of the virus.
According to the Employers’ Consultative Association, business establishments should be strongly enforcing physical distancing, hand washing, temperature scanning and the use of face masks.
It reminds that staggering hours or rotating workers is also an option if physical distancing is not possible.
Also, the ECA says businesses should treat COVID-19 sick leave and quarantine as normal sick leave but should pay full salaries to quarantined or confirmed patients.
In instances where the company cannot afford to pay, it says the employee can apply for the National Insurance Sickness Benefit.
