The Elections and Boundaries Commission says there has been an overwhelming response to its ‘walk-in’ service to renew expired national ID cards.
Yesterday, was the first of the ‘walk-in’ Sundays at all EBC Registration Area Offices and Registration Area Sub-offices.
It adds that despite the long lines, all persons were eventually attended to.
The EBC says this ‘walk-in’ renewal service is specifically for persons 60 years and over, and will continue for the next 11 Sundays, until March 28th.
If necessary, however, it may be continued after this time.
Additionally however, senior citizens also have the option to call and make an appointment from Mondays to Saturdays, where hours of operation have been extended.
The EBC also reminds that it recently extended the validity of all expired ID cards to June 30th 2021.
