The validity of ID cards which are currently expired or due to expire have been extended until March 31st 2022.

This has been announced by the Elections and Boundaries Commission, largely due to the ongoing public health requirements and its effects on the commission’s operations.

It believes the extension would help:

    • Facilitate those persons who were unable to make an appointment to renew their expired ID cards before the December 31, 2021 extension deadline
    • Manage the number of persons visiting the offices to ensure health and safety considerations under the current pandemic.

The EBC says some businesses have not been accepting expired ID cards and is urging them to be mindful of this extension.

Persons are reminded that the renewal of ID cards require an appointment via appointments.ebctt.com.
