Driver involved in death of Chef Joe Brown surrenders to police

The driver of the vehicle which slammed into a group of bikers on the Beetham Highway in November 2018, killing 2 people, has surrendered to police.

Reports indicate that he gave himself up at the Besson Street Police Station on two outstanding warrants of causing the deaths of Chef Joe Brown and British national Joanna Banks by dangerous driving and a summons for causing injury to others.

He was reportedly granted $200,000 bail and is due to appear in court today.

Brown and Banks were part of a group from the Slipstream Cycling Club riding on the eastbound lane of the highway near Beetham Gardens, when a car crashed into them.
