There has been a 30% drop in the weekly total of COVID-19 cases, according to Epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds.
Dr Hinds made this revelation at a conference today where he said this week’s decrease follows a 10% reduction the week of May 30th to June 5th.
He said there were just over 2,200 cases being recorded between June 6th and today.
Meanwhile, Principal Medical Officer Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards said the rolling average of cases continues to slowly decrease, sitting at 329.
However, despite the decreases in numbers and plateauing of figures in the parallel health system, she urged persons not to be prematurely comforted.
She said persons must continue to wash hands, wear masks and watch their physical distance.
