While urging all citizens to take the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available, a former MP is calling on government to address the outstanding concerns about the jab.
Dr Tim Gopeesingh, who contracted and has recovered from the virus, believes there must be public stakeholder discussions and a multipartite policy behind the roll-out of vaccines in T&T.
He believes questions still exist regarding:
• the proper, safe transport and storage of the vaccine
• the swift, equitable and efficient delivery to citizens
• the public education campaign and allaying of fears about the vaccine’s safety, and
• the human resource implications for the workplace
He warns that the virus has no political, ethnic, geographic or socio-economic boundaries.
