Port of Spain City Police are warning of a zero tolerance approach to attacks on officers after the alleged assault of a traffic warden.
A married couple from Diego Martin is expected in court today over yesterday’s incident.
The 68-year-old victim reported that he was conducting traffic duties near Scotiabank on Frederick Street, Port of Spain when he saw a driver in breach of a no-parking sign.
During enquires, the driver refused to produce his documents and allegedly threatened to kill the warden before both him and his wife exited the vehicle and assaulted the warden.
The victim managed to escape and city police on foot patrol took all three persons in custody, eventually summoning the couple to court.
