Residents of St Augustine and environs will get free diabetic and dental screenings at an upcoming health and wellness fair.
It is being offered through a collaboration of several medical institutions: Trinidad Institute of Medical Technology (TIMT), Trinidad Eye Hospital and Exquisite Dental as well as SEWA International.
The fair will be held on the grounds of TIMT, opposite the St Augustine Senior Secondary School, on Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
Meanwhile, the Tobago Regional Health Authority will be doing similar screenings at the Bovell Cancer Diabetes Foundation event tomorrow, ‘Diabetes in the Limelight Jamboree’.
There will also be testing of blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol as well as other services through the TRHA’s Nutrition, Dental and Mental Health Units.
Other activities include food demonstrations, foot exams, doctors’ consultations and a children’s booth including artwork.
The event takes place at the Cyd Gray Sporting Complex in Roxborough from 10am.
