T&T will be ready for any potential delivery of COVID-19 vaccines from March next year, as there is storage equipment already in the country, according to the Health Minister.
Speaking at this morning’s Health Ministry media briefing, Mr Terrence Deyalsingh notes that it is not yet known which vaccine will be approved for use in the region.
However, he believes that this does not mean T&T cannot prepare and already has five freezers to work with.
Mr Deyalsingh says more will be acquired.
The COVAX facility, to which T&T is a signatory, recently announced that it signed four new deals for vaccines from AstraZeneca/Oxford and the Janssen candidate – the latter is currently being investigated as a single dose vaccine.
