With Christmas around the corner, citizens are being urged to follow the example of the Hindu community, which has been commended for its responsible celebration of Divali.
At today’s Health Briefing, Minister Terrence Deyalsingh praised the way in which the Festival of Lights was celebrated earlier this month, as he again urged persons not to gather or hold holiday parties.
Minister Deyalsingh warned that the circle people believe they have is actually much larger, since it also includes the contacts of others.
This, he added, is exactly why persons should resist the urge to attend gatherings or invite persons to their home for the holidays.
The Minister insisted that he too was following this advice, as he has turned down all invitations for the season, and will instead be spending it with his wife, son and daughter-in-law.
His final warning meanwhile: don’t let COVID parang in your house this Christmas.
