A constitutional challenge may be on the cards in Tobago, as preliminary results of the Tobago House of Assembly Elections show a tie between the PNM and the PDP.
The PNM, who led the THA’s administration in the last term, lost a few seats, while, the PDP led by Watson Duke, gained seats in this year’s polls, leaving a preliminary 6-6 deadlock.
In the previous term, the PNM held 10 seats in the THA, while the PDP held two.
The official results have yet to be declared by the Elections and Boundaries Commission.
Leader of the PNM Tobago Council Tracy Davidson-Celestine said the party was pleased to regain six seats, but she did not expect the PDP to do as well as they have done.
