Weapons and ammunition were removed from the official residence of the Police Commissioner, however DCP McDonald Jacob says this is not unusual.
In a release, DCP Jacob says the items removed from the St James residence are part of the Police Service’s assets.
He adds that the removal is part of standard operating procedures when a handover of property takes place and is in no way connected to any warrants as being purported on social media.
According to the DCP, the weapons and ammunition were stored at the residence to be used by the security detail responsible for protecting former CoP Gary Griffith.
They have since been conveyed to a secure location because at present, no one is occupying the Commissioner’s residence.
